I agree with Timothy .. The services leaves a lot to be desired.
Will the diner ever be 5 stars
They were very helpful with my No Meat diet. The Hostess were great. My waitress very Attentive & responsive
Excellent service, good food, clean. Little on the pricier side, extra meat was $4 if I remember correctly.
This was my first time going here and I will definitely be going back again. Food was great I ordered the country breakfast everything was cooked perfectly. The staff was very attentive and very pleasant. The diner was very clean & safe. I would highly recommend this place.
First time at this dinner and it was wonderful! We will be back. The hot turkey, mashed gravy is AMAZING! Tasty French dip too. If you are looking for a diner with the good, traditional diner food, here is your place. The social distancing was well placed and all the staff wore their masks.
Best breakfast burrito in the Capital region! High quality food and prices are very reasonable.
A big hotspot for both locals and tourists. The food is great, and the service is good to.
Great service. And good food.
Spotless, fresh and wonderful food. Friendly staff and good prices. Highly recommend.
My fiance and I went to this diner. I loved the mudslide! I wanted chicken alfredo but was told because we came in after 8 pm the chef wouldn't make certain dishes...yikes. The server was extremely nice tho
Amazing food, amazing service. Our server was the most sweet, friendly, and happy person in the place. The atmosphere was homey and inviting. Will return again and again.
Food is fine. Staff is good. Nothing really outstanding but nothing particularly wrong with it either. It's a perfectly good diner.
AMAZING food, EXCELLENT customer service by Nick, beautiful atmosphere, quick times/no wait, sparkling clean. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Go here!!!!!!!!!
I have been a fan of Capital City since I used to go to the Ambrosia in Catskill. Four generations of my family have been fans. The food is great and the service is friendly and quick. when ever we say lets got to the dinner there is no question where we mean. Its Capital City all the way.
This is the best diner in the whole capital region. Not only is the food amazing, but the service is as well. If you're looking for an authentic, delicious Gyro, then look no further. I truly believe that you can judge a diner on it's Gyro quality alone, and this idea is once again held true by this wonderful restaurant. You get restaurant quality food and service, with diner prices. You can never go wrong at this establishment.
Food was good with a quick turn around time after order. Waitress was attentive, friendly, and entertaining.
My waitress was the best, the very best. Cashier was good too.
Awsome food amazing staff would definitely recommend this diner to all
Good gyro and breakfast platter. Excellent home made German Chocolate cake. Old fashioned diner feel.
Good food and service. Reasonable pricing.
Your food was fresh, hot. And your deserts were to die for. And the service was great. We will be back. Thanks so much.
Friendly, delicious, great location. I ate 3 consecutive meals there when visiting UAlbany. All were terrific! I would go again.
Recently renovated and under new ownership, the new owners nailed it. Fast friendly service and the food is delicious. Family atmosphere. Very nice.
We found our new favorite spot!!!! food was absolutely fabulous even with Covid going on .everybody was very friendly. We will definitely come again & this was just desert !!!!
nothing special the meatloaf was the worst ever, nice salad friendly service , good deserts but I will stick with the best diner within 100 miles of Albany—-TOPS Diner best food anywhere!!!
Great food and service. Waitress Victoria was awesome. Will definitely return!
Food was alright and the waitresses are very friendly. Everything on the breakfast menu is around 8-12 dollars and there's definitely no shortage of options. The omelets come with two slices of buttered toast and home fries. The taste isn't spectacular but it's worth what you paid for.
The this we ordered was tasty and it even looked good on the plate! Everything was hot, too. Fantastic service, pleasant and helpful. (We never ran out of coffee, either!) I look forward to my next visit.
The service so nice muah to V. G. She had her fast feet moving. I felt comfortable, rare for me eating in new places. Capital City Diner has a community feeling. Go check for yourself, enjoy
Highly recommend this diner. Care was taken to prepare and cook my dinner. The matzo ball soup was delicious to start with and the fried haddock with wedged French fries were cooked perfectly. Thank you for a wonderful meal.
Came here on a Saturday around 1 for lunch. Seated immediately, really friendly service. Our waitress seemed to wander a bit, but we got everything we asked for. I got the pizza burger and although it was cooked perfectly, it was a weird concept. I liked it, but wouldn't order it again. The brownie sundae was huge and we shared it 4 ways.
Probably my favorite diner of all. The food is surprisingly good, the prices are cheap, and even the service is good here compared to pretty much every diner I've ever been to. The desserts look really tasty when you walk in too. It's great that this place is in town!
Good prices for big portions. We went for dessert and were easily seated and given ginormous pieces of pie. Would definitely go back.
This diner was featured during an episode of House Hunters! This diner has a retro flare with super accommodating and friendly staff. While not all meals are A1, most are super big portions and decently priced. The desserts are nice and so is the bowl of Matzoh ball soup.
I have to say how very disappointed I was with my experience on Saturday, March 7, 2020. I travel a lot to Albany for business and on this day I was meeting a client. I am a tea drinker. I ordered a cup of tea and I received 1 Lipton tea bag and a small carafe of not overly hot water. My client ordered coffee. When you order coffee you get free refills. When you order tea you are charged $2.19 per tea bag. Now I do don’t claim to be a mathematician but in the grocery store I know that a box of 100 tea bags are at the most $5 and some change, so doesn’t that make it a little over 5 cents per bag? So for 2 cups of tea it cost me $4.38 and my client had 3 cups of coffee for $2.19. I will give them credit that the breakfast was good but I will be finding another place to have breakfast so I can enjoy a couple cups of tea, hopefully at least a couple choices besides just Lipton, without feeling that I was discriminated against for not being a coffee drinker.
Good food. Decent prices. Friendly service. What now can you ask for really?Breakfast all day. Mashed potatoes were divine.
Food was good, service was lacking. Waiter never came back after delivering food until he brought the check.
